The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) launched a new mobile app to help citizens anonymously report cases involving rape, robbery, assault and theft. The app is called Smart Police and is created by a company called Cyberspace, a wholly Nigerian company founded in 1995.
Cyberspace is reportedly the first to build a world class converged IP network that supports applications based on the 3 hierarchical models in 2002.
Users will be able to register anonymously within the app via Facebook and Google+.
The report further reveals that the application also allows users to make distress calls by using the ‘Panic Mode Button’.
Users can also interact with police officers via the app, according to the report.
The app is available for download on all platform stores including Google Play Store.
