PRESS RELEASE ON THE USE OF HIJAAB IN MISSION SCHOOLS IN KWARA STATE.

History/Background

The C & S College, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin owned by C & S Church World wide was established on the 2nd February, 1969 to take care of the educational development of the youths and our Children.

Aims & Objectives

To improve the educational standard of the Children with the aim to inculcate moral and discipline in them to ensure their proper unbringing among others.

Maintenance

Ever since the establishment of the College, the Church had been maintaining the School both the buildings and the structures.
Equally, Individuals and the Church erected the present structures on the College, a pointer that no government presence had been felt on the College. For many years, government had not erected any structure.

Grant Aid from Government

The grant aid by government started in 1974, and we need to state that ever since then, government had no hand in the maintenance except the payment of salary.

Agreement on the aid

It was agreed that the Church will be responsible for the appointment of Principal, Vice Principal etc and also decide on Dress code ie School uniforms including beret.

Our tolerance

The School it will be recalled had produced notable and credible Nigerians who are Muslims who were never converted or forced to embrace our faith.

Our Demands

1. We vehemently say No hijaab in our mission schools.

2. The Church is demanding that Government should give us back our Schools to forestall unnecessary trespass capable of leading to breakdown of law and order in the State.

3. We like to reiterate that we have our Church on the College compound hence the use of hijaab will cause disunity.

4. It suffice to state that moral values that the Church is noted for and which prompted the establishment of the College is seriously being eroded necessitated the desire to take over our College.

Conclusion

We like to emphasis that we are peace loving group and will continue to toll that line and that will not stop us from asking and demanding for our right.
We appreciate the efforts of Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq administration in finding lasting and amicable solution to the issue.
We urge the government to revise its decision in the interest of peace.

Thank you all for your attention.

God bless you.

Signed
His Grace Most Reverend Prophet Samuel A. Abidoye
Chairman/Spiritual Father Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Worldwide.
